Good morning everyone,
I have a problem with assigning a Pantone color to a graphic work. I have to send a business card to the printer and I would like to define a special color that will be printed in silver.
They told me to assign the Pantone color to this element. I did as they told me. I exported to PDF but when I check with Acrobat Reader this Pantone channel is not visible.
I attach a screen. It should look like the example sent by the printer. Did I do something wrong?
Thank you very much
Derek

When publishing to PDF, was the 'Honor spot colors' option checked in the Export Settings dialog (File>Export>PDF>More)?

I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.

There are basically two ways to define a spot color within Affinity apps.

If you want to use PANTONE palettes, you can use PANTONE Formula Guide Solid Coated (or Uncoated) v5 or Metallic Coated to pick e.g. PANTONE 871C (which is often used to designate "gold"), or PANTONE 877C (for "silver"), or basically any other spot color as long as you agree with your printer the significance (usage) of each used spot color definition. All colors in those mentioned palettes (that are included also in Affinity apps) are spot colors. You can tell that a swatch color is a spot color by its having a small dot (circle) at the bottom right corner.

In your document, you have picked a color from PANTONE+ CMYK Coated palette, which is not a spot color palette, but a process color (CMYK) palette, and you cannot convert a process color to a spot color within Affinity apps.

However, you can also create a new spot color of your own by choosing Add Global Color command within the context menu of the Swatches panel, and then check the Spot box in the Global Color panel.

Whichever way you define the spot color, you can rename it so that it has an expected name in the exported PDF and makes a plate of its own, and is recognized as agreed with the printer.
