Hi, I have some artboards in Affinity designer 2 for mac, with a warp group (Bend - Horizontal). I am running into issues exporting the artboards as PDF:

Export as PDF/X3:2003: The text conserves the vectors, but the warp is approximate only.

Export as PDF (flatten): The text and image are pixelated, but the warp is conserved.

Please see attached files.

How do I conserve both the vector nature of the text and image, as well as the warp? Thanks.

I'm a little confused by what you're referring to when you say it's approximate only, particularly since there is no original .afdesign file to compare your PDF export to. Visually opening both the Flattened PDF and PDF/X file indicates that the relative positions of the warped objects are the same, could you possibly provide some clarity on this and provide the original file for comparison? You won't be able to preserve a 'Warp group' layer within a PDF, these will always be converted to curves on export.

Many thanks

It took me a little time to solve this "Where is the difference?" game…

The error is in the middle of the feather: the white line inside is a perfectly smooth curve in the rasterised PDF but a broken line in the vectorial.

I apologise for any approximations in my English. It is not my mother tongue.

Here is the afdesign file, thanks

Thanks, looks like a bug with the PDF exporter and the warp group adding sharp nodes, I'll get this logged with the developers.

Workaround: Prior to export select the warp group and then select 'Convert to Curves' along the context toolbar and then export again, this should avoid the curve adding these Sharp nodes in the middle of the feather.

Thanks! The workaround worked too.
