Hello,

I'm having a big issue with affinit Publisher. A file that i finalized saturday today won't open at all. It cashes the app right away. Other files opens fine.

I'm using Windows 10, and I already tried to:

    disable opencl
install beta 2.6 publisher and use that
clear preferences by opening the app while keeping pressed CTRL
trying to open it without the fonts loaded

Nothing works. Also, I'm unable to find the app's crash reports.

The file is not too big (70 mb), but I placed some images with layer by directly doing copy/paste from affinity designer. Saturday everything was working good however. Also, there are some images placed on a local NAS of my office.

I upload the file, is nothing too sensitive but is very important to me because today I was supposes to show to my boss and I still need to make some modifications, if someone can help me I would be very grateful!!

Thanks a lot!

Marco

Hi @MarcoDjalloand Welcome the Forums,

I'm also getting a crash when opening that file on Windows and MacOS.  I've got a crash report from MacOS and i'll need to get this file logged with the Developers, as nothing i do allows me to open the file :(

Can you remember if that was the last thing you did in this file?

Hi @MarcoDjallo,

I've logged the file with the Developers. As soon as i get any information on the bug report, i'll update here :)

Just wanted to add that if the problem in the end is in the elements I pasted from the other software of the suite, and if the developers are able to somehow modify the file, for me is good to have a file with the last 4 or 5 pages removed (that is where I pasted the elements coming from affinity designer ), the most important part for me was in the other pages !

Thanks a lot !

Hello, I don't want to annoy you but do you have any news on this? If not on the file (that luckily I had exported as PDF, so at least I was able to reconstruct it) on the bug in general, because I'm using Publisher a lot but now I'm scared that important presentations I'm working on would stop opening from one day to another for an unknown reason 🥲

Thank you very much!

Marco

A possible reason could be that:

It's generally advised to use only local storage when working on files in Affinity (and other programs too), since network storage or cloud synced folders could sometimes result in files impossible to open or save when working on files directly from them.

I am also having this issue on my Surface Pro 11. Affinity photo 2, and sometimes the whole tablet, crashes whenever I attempt to open a RAW file to edit.
