Hi @john def, welcome to the Affinity forums!

If there is no option in the Context Toolbar you can use the Transform panel to type the desired aspect ratio (e.g. w=2, h=7), then activate the 'lock' and change the values if wanted.

Another way is to draw a selection with a Selection Tool, then press the "Q" key (-> QuickMask) + switch to Move Tool + drag the size by its handles or enter the wanted values in the Transform Panel.

Alternatively you can draw a vector shape with any tool (e.g. Rectangle, Pen), select this layer with the MoveTool + cmd/ctrl-click (mac/win) its layer thumbnail in the layers panel to create a pixel selection from this shape. Once the selection exists it is independent from layer and the layer may get deselected without losing the pixel selection.
