Hi there,

I'm new with affinity designer and I'm struggling with the following problem;

I prepared a file for a lasercut software. It needs a line in a specific color and width.

I made a file with several elements. In the laser software some are perfect some are either not visible or only half visible.

There has to be a failure in the file, but I can't discover what it is, to me the element all look the same.

It must be something small, It would be great if you can look with me!

Thank you in advance!

It might have been useful if you told us which stroke width and colour they needed.

In Designer V2 (you seem to be using V1) I selected one layer and then used the “Select → Select Same → Stroke Weight → Equal” and “Select → Select Same → Stroke Colour” functionalities and had 13 layers selected each time, and that is the same number as layers in the document (excepting the Artboard), so it looks to me like all the layers have the same width and colour.

I cant see any unusual Blend Modes or Blend Options being used so that doesn’t seems to be the problem.

Some have different Stoke Align settings – e.g. Centre versus Inside – and/or different Joins – e.g. Mitre versus Round –  so that might be something to do with it.

It might help us if you can tell us which layers you are having a problem with rather than us guessing which are 'right' and which are 'wrong'.

Thanks you for your quick response!

Yes indeed, I'm on V1. The stroke width is 0,1 mm and the color is R 255 and G+B on 0.

The strokes have all the same width and color , but it's very useful to know how to equal them. Thank you.

The forms that are working are the third and fourth from the left ( and their copies).

Thank you so much for looking at it!

Thanks for the extra information.

The forms that you say aren’t working seem to be those which have a Mitre Join and an Inside Align.

You could try selecting all the forms, setting the Join to Bevel and then to Curve, then setting the Align to Outside and then to Centre.

Then all of the forms should have the same Align and Join.

If that doesn’t fix it, and I don’t know why it would because I don’t use laser cutting equipment, we can look at it further.

These have a centre-aligned stroke, which will be exported as required.

The others have an inside aligned stroke, which is inappropriate because inside and outside aligned strokes get expanded to filled shapes with no stroke when exported.

A solution is to select one good object, do Copy, select all objects and then do Paste Style.
