Anytime I try to open any file it just says "loading 1 document."

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Where is the document stored? If it's stored in a folder synced to a cloud, on your network, or on an external drive, move it to your internal drive in a folder that is not synced to a cloud.

If that doesn't work and the document has external linked resources, such as an embedded document, rename the files or the enclosing folders so they're unavailable.

Good luck

Hi, it's stored on my C Drive and nothing is embedded. It also hangs up when creating a new document, right after choosing the paper size.

There was another thread like this for Windows recently and that person resolved their issue by going into Settings > Performance and turning off hardware acceleration. It might be a long shot but it's worth giving that a try.

I found that thread and tried it but no luck. Thank you though.
