wintermute Posted January 16 Posted January 16 1 - Margins. During seting margins, there is no preview. You input a value and accept it. If you're setting margins by eye and don't know the exact values, you have to repeat the process until it look good. The lack of preview is kind of suprise… 2 - Table formatting. If you want to fit a table within specific dimensions by (for exaplne) narrowing the first column by imput value in cell windows, the width of the second column will change, not the entire table. So, in this case, you'll need to adjust the width of all the columns. of course if you want change with manualny by dragging column border you can do it holding "shift". But if you want input value in cell windows there is no option to prevent resizing other column. Quote

The lack of preview is kind of suprise… There is a preview but likely not what you want - it's in the dialog's thumbnail instead of a live preview on the page. It's the same for all controls in Document Setup because a live preview would be very destructive for most of the options such as facing pages, page size, and orientation. The best way to do what you want is to select the object that you want to align the margin guide to, copy its position from the Transform panel, and paste that into the Document Setup > Margins text field.
