sweboss Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Once upon a time I had a beta version of Publisher installed. It was on an earlier MacBook Pro, but since then there is a bug that hangs on, even if I have changed the computer to a new MacBook.. The problem I have is that when I export something from Publisher 2 and push the button for choosing Publisher 2 directory on iCloud, Publisher tries to open "Affinity Publisher Beta", a directory that doesn't exist. How do I get rid of this problem? What I want is of course that the directory "Affinity Publisher 2" (which actually exists on iCloud) will open up. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted January 13 Staff Posted January 13 Hi @sweboss, This is currently logged internally with the developers, these default 'App library' folders created on iCloud are not distinguished by V1/V2/Beta, so it's possible to end up with a beta app folder even if you don't have the beta currently installed. You could try following the guidance below to refresh the folder, but ultimately the folder being prefixed with 'Beta' doesn't particularly affect anything: On 12/5/2023 at 1:41 PM, NathanC said: As I also had the 'Publisher 2 beta' folder as my default iCloud folder for both V1 and V2 release, after removing the beta app I had installed I unsynced Publisher 2 beta from the 'Apps syncing to iCloud drive' menu which removed the folder and it's contents, and then signed out and then back into iCloud on my Mac which then fixed the App library name to 'Affinity Publisher' when my iCloud drive re-synced. I've mentioned this on other threads, but personally I don't see any real advantage to using these 'app library' folders over just creating and managing my own folders on iCloud even with other apps, as they do create a lot of unnecessary hassle and confusion.
