ronditlesauvage Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hi, everybody. I work a lot with books, assemblies of afpub documents (chapters). It is easy to find fields with statistics for each document, but is there any way to find statistics for books? I'd like to be able to see the date last saved, number of times saved, that kind of thing, and to be able to place it in a document somewhere for reference... Quote
MikeTO Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Hi. There isn't a way to do this and AFAIK, you might be the first person in this forum to have asked about this. It would be good to post into the feedback forum to request the feature. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/122-feedback-for-the-affinity-v2-suite-of-products/ Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)

walt.farrell Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Sorry, but I don't understand. Each .afpub file would maintain that information in the Fields panel, and that should apply to the chapter .afpub files, too. However, there are cases where the chapter .afpub files are modified silently by Publisher, without the user performing a Save, and I'm not sure whether the Fields panel records that as a Save or not. (I would guess it doesn't.) MikeTO Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I think the OP is asking for a new section named Book Information to be added to the Fields panel shown only when the current document is part of a Book. It would offer fields for Book Name, Created date, Saved date, Printed/Exported, Saved count, Filename, Path, Total Pages. These fields would be saved in the Book file and synced to all of the Chapter documents so their values would be available for insertion in any of the documents. Without this feature, there's no way to insert "page 1 of X" in any chapter of a Book aside from the last chapter. walt.farrell 1 Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.3, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
