StephenT Posted January 1 Posted January 1 After a long day of printing test prints from Affinity Photo 2 ver. 2.5.7 on my Mac Mini the Print Option from the File > Print menu option stopped working, the print options dialog box will no longer come up. Same issue with Affinity Publisher AND Affinity Designer. All other apps including Apple Photos are printing with no issues. The problem is only with Affinity apps. My desktop is a Mac Mini 2023 M2 16GB RAM running Sonoma 14.6.1. Thanks. Quote
MikeTO Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Hi @StephenT and welcome to the forum. This issue crops up from time to time. Here's what I wrote to somebody else a week ago. Also, ensure you try restarting your Mac. Good luck. StephenT Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 Reboots haven't worked so I tried a hard reset with a complete shut down, followed by a fresh start up. Neither File > Print nor Cmd + P will display the print dialog window. Quote
MikeTO Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Did you see this which I wrote in the other post? Could you share a screenshot of what your Print dialog looks like when it does open? Does it default to Last Used Printer or a specific printer? You might try changing it to the other setting. Another thing you could try is deleting your print presets if you have any. StephenT Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Print dialog box began to respond intermittently during a long printing session and eventually stopped responding all together. So, no, I can't change any settings or delete presets. I tried presets and have a few, but don't care for or use them. Quote

But does it appear at all, even it stops responding? If so, then that is not the same thing as not coming up, so it should be possible to take & post the screenshot @MikeTO asked for. It might show something that would help figure out what is causing this. 1 hour ago, StephenT said: I tried presets and have a few, but don't care for or use them. Then is there some reason not to try what @MikeTO suggested & try deleting them? StephenT Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 I have no access at all to the print dialog box. It doesn't appear at all. Quote

Try these options: Start with Ctrl held down, clear document and window states. Unlikely to help but worth a try. Print from another application. Click the Presets list, edit the list, and delete all your presets. Click the Printers list, edit the list, and remove your printers. Add your default printer back. Restart macOS. Try printing from Affinity. StephenT Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Removed all printers AND DRIVERS per macOS instructions - reinstalled drivers and printers and all is back to normal. Thanks, Mike! MikeTO 1 Quote
