I have a file with 5 layers. the top layer is a watermark and the 4 underneath are photos. All I want to do is to export the 4 photo layers (including the watermark) with a Macro, one after another and then close the file. I need to do this task with a macro because I have a good amount of work like this each month and it's very repetitive. When I tried to export the file while the macro was recording I got the attached message "Cannot Record Export Item".

Maybe I'm missing something or there's actually a way of doing this but I've been navigating the forums and tutorials online with no luck. Any help/support would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Macros cannot record the export process

But they can record creating slices in the export persona

So, assuming I think what you want to do is add your watermark to each layer then export the 4 layers as individual files you may be able to create a macro to add the watermark to each layer, use the export persona to then create slices for those 4 layers, then manually export those 4 layers simultaneously which may speed up/simplify your workflow a bit

then close the file

You can't record that in a macro. But you can attach a macro to a batch job in APhoto which will close the file when the macro completes, not sure that will help you in your current situation but it might if you did things a different way

Thanks for your answer carl, I'll take a look on the slices feature and see how useful they can be.

I understood it's not supported with that pop up, hence why I came to this section Feedback & Suggestions. It would be nice to have something like that. Pressing one button and having all my outcome processed. I understand there's more parameters to consider like destination, names of the layers, and whatnot that don't make this an easy and quick task but we, clients, are generally patient.

In the meantime, doing the job partially manually, as you said, is my option, I already dumped Adobe so, I'm all in to get soaked in the new ecosystem with the learning curves and pain that it might imply but happy overall.

Thanks again!
