ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm creating a file and have warped text using the warp text tool. On my screen, it looks as it should, but as I export it as a PNG, the tops and sides of the letters are all cut off. I have tried using an artboard that is sized to my project and also one that is much larger, neither makes a difference. I'll attach pics of what it looks like in designer and also once I've exported as a PNG. How can I fix this? Quote
Ldina Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 @ShenaJ Since you are exporting to PNG (a raster format), you can click on the Warp Group, then right-click and choose Rasterize. That ought to export to PNG fine, but it will no longer be vector. The actual "Warp Group" has a different 'bounding box' than the original text that you are warping. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Someone else probably has the answer, but rasterizing is a temporary fix. ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 @Ldina thank you so much for the advice! Unfortunately, when I rasterize, it just automatically cuts all the words off. Not sure if I misunderstood or did something wrong, but I took that group of words, right clicked and chose rasterize and this is the result. Quote
Ldina Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Can you upload your file? That way, people can look at how it is structured and offer more definitive advice. ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Sure thing! Here it is. arrow and heart.afdesign Quote
lepr Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 You are encountering a rasterisation bug when a Warp Group is inside a Group (or Symbol or Layer). Workaround: select the Group which contains the Warp Group and do Ungroup. Quote
ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 @lepr thank you! That worked! I appreciate your help! lepr 1 Quote

Oddly enough, I don't have any problem exporting to PNG (I did reduce the size to 1600px wide to speed things up and reduce the file size). I'm on a MacBook Pro M4, running OS Sequoia. I don't know if this is a Windows issue or not. Looks like @lepr beat me to it! I was going to suggest dragging your Warp Group outside of the other Group (you can delete the empty Group, or better yet, UnGroup as lepr suggested). The Warp Group Bonding Box seems to coincide with where the text is getting cut off. I'm not seeing this on my system, whether I export your original, or do what I did below. ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 @Ldina thank you! That is odd as I'm on a Mac running Sequoia as well. I was able to ungroup and it finally worked. Thank you for your help! Ldina 1 Quote

Ldina Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I just tried exporting your file to PNG at FULL SIZE. It cut off the text, the same as in your original post. Maybe it is a "size" thing? ShenaJ Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 @lepr as you can see above, I had changed my remarks as I was able to get it after following your instructions. It didn't work at first, but I got it to work afterward. Again, thank you for your help. lepr 1 Quote
Ldina Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 @lepr Same here...after UnGrouping, it exports to PNG fine at full size, also on Mac.👍 ShenaJ and lepr 2 Quote 2024 MacBook Pro M4 Max, 48GB, 1TB SSD, Sequoia OS, Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher v1 & v2, Adobe CS6 Extended, LightRoom v6, Blender, InkScape, Dell 30" Monitor, Canon PRO-100 Printer, i1 Spectrophotometer, i1Publish, Wacom Intuos 4 PTK-640 graphics tablet
