BBkuro Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I am using Affinity Designer 2.5.5 now. There is a problem when I try to use corner tool that produce difference radius limit in different side of an perfect symmetrical shape. Here is how to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a circle on top 2. Create a rectangle at bottom 3. Merge them together 4. Using corner tool to 2 corner at middle, produce maximum corner possible. You could now we they are not the same. Futher exploration First way: Using the reverse curve, you could see the limit now swap side, meaning it depend on where the path begin. Second way: Recreate half the path with all square corner, it show that the begin of path really affect the limit, no matter what neighboor corners are. My expectation: I want to have the corner radius as big as possible, because I love curve more π Designer_YKYh7PAjh3.mp4 Designer_QBbfHwypJV.mp4 untitled.afdesign Quote
GarryP Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 This sounds like itβs related to these bug reports: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/144470-inconsistent-corner-radius-behaviour-when-converting-a-shapes-to-a-curve/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/186715-whats-limiting-the-radius-of-the-corner-tool/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/215615-rounded-corner-radius-inconsistent-when-stretching-h-vs-v/ ...and maybe some others. BBkuro Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 So sorry. I have check the forum before, but not lucky to find them. Thank you for pointing that out π Hope Affinity Team could solve it soon, because I found this in a Facebook Messenger Forum, which may affect much on new user. I could work around myself but many people feel very frustrating already. Quote
GarryP Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Serif are definitely aware of the issue and it has been given an official tag elsewhere (AF-1164, and maybe AFD-6628) so all we can do is wait and see if anything happens. BBkuro 1 Quote
