davery Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Dear Affinity So I have another nittygritty problem. I got this rather simple little grafic where I want to duplicate an array of circles "around a corner" by their origin. (It is a template for a ceiling decoration, to be painted) This seems to be basic. But setting the origin for a "grouped group of paths", or a "non-grouped group of paths" leads to differing results. I always set the point of origin to the reference point and go with the move/duplicate panel. See the screenshots of the various operations, with the settings in the move/duplicate panels, and please spot the point of origin in the bottom-right corner of the image. The results are weird, if there are 2 paths with their origins set individually and as a multiple selection. It seems to work as expected if I group them and transform the whole group... Also, the display of the point of origin is often not what it seems to be even if set correctly, like in the screen-shot "pair-of-paths-rotation-fails". This is what made me scratch my head. Now that I found the work-around (always group objects before transforming them), I wonder if this is a bug, or just a non-obvious logical behaviour. I can imagine situations where this could become problematic, as a group is also sort of a "fence" for objects (I can not select objects within different groups for exampls...) Anyway, thank you for looking into this, and have a good day! david decke-raster-45mm.afdesign Quote
