I’ve been really pleased with Affinity Photo, it’s so useful and versatile.

I hope you can help me to use Topaz DeNoise as a Photoshop Plugin on my PC.

When I used Affinity Photo V 2.5.5 the Topaz DeNoise AI V 3.7.2 worked perfectly as a Photoshop Plugin.

Since updating with Affinity Photo V 2.5.6 I’ve had problems with Topaz DeNoise AI V 3.7.2 as a Photoshop plug in.

To set it up I’ve gone to Edit\Settings\Photoshop Plugins\C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC

I’ve made sure that “Allow Unkown plugins to be used” is ticked.

When I wish to access DeNoise within Affinity Photo I can access Topaz Labs but the DeNoise software name shows but is greyed out.

If I click on “Add Pixel Layer” then the DeNoise is accessible, but when I open up DeNoise, there is no image showing.

Thanks Dave for your response.

I wish to see for myself the difference between using DeNoise first and using it as a plug in.

I would like to know the reason why topaz DeNoise worked as a plug in with Affinity 2.5.5 but does not work with Affinity 2.5.6. Also what is required to make it work with Version 2.5.6.

Hi @Seajay,

Apologies for the late response. The issue is more likely to do with the layer type selected preventing plugin access. I'd suggest checking the following:

- Document Colour Space is set to RGB/8 or RGB/16

- The selected layer is a 'Pixel' type layer. Plugins will not function on non-destructive RAW layers, you'll need to right click > rasterise the layer first.
