atomikdog Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I'd like to format a TOC similar to the attached, outlined in red. How do I include Title [dots] Author [dots] Page Number [line break] Chapter Title? I don't need help with fonts, etc. Some relevant things I don't completely understand yet: Formatting tab stops Making sure the TOC text frame stretches across the page and doesn't resize when updated (happening to me currently) Authors all aligned Page number right aligned How to include indented chapter title on 2nd line My guess is one trick involves making a text frame on the 1st page of each story that gets hidden and contains all the necessary info? Thanks in advance. Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 I doubt you can get the title and author on the same line, and separated by leader dots like that. You will probably need to have them on separate lines, and using separate Paragraph Text Styles in your main document text. But it would help if you could provide a .afpub sample of your main text for us to examine. MikeTO Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 As Walt pointed out, you'll have to set the chapter headings as two lines and use separate text styles for them. But it will work fine and the only secret is turning off page numbers in the TOC for the second-level heading. Here's a sample document to show how to do it - the top frame is the TOC and the bottom frame has headings for the first two chapters as an example.
