Windows 10. Version 2.5.5

I have a picture composed of many layers. The layers are selected bits of various pictures to go to make up a composit.
If I select a layer about halfway down the stack and try to apply auto levels to it - I get the scrolling line 'auto levels' for ever and the only way out is to crash affinity using the task manager to end the task.

Just tried 2.5.6 - still fails.
I can apply auto levels to a picture layer if its on the to of the stack.
If I move the same layer into the middle of the stack - select it and then auto-levels - affinity hangs.
Processor utilisation mashing away at 98% this time.
Have to exit with task manager stop and reload the crash recovery and start again file.

@Simonkidd It's not something I can seem to replicate on any composit files I have.

Have you tried turning off Hardware Acceleration within the apps Settings > Performance to see if this has any affect?

If not can you provide a sample file this is happening with and also confirm the spec of your system.
