Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing issues exporting an entire book to PDF with Affinity Publisher (currently using version 2.6.0.2900 Beta, but this also occurred in previous stable versions from 2.5.2 to 2.5.6).

The exported PDFs are “broken” and cannot be opened in any PDF viewer. This is quite odd because I can export PDFs for individual chapters (although some chapters fail to export, but that issue is already reported).

To troubleshoot, I’ve tried exporting chapters that export fine individually, but when combined into a single book, the issue persists.

I’ve also tried disabling ICC profile embedding and unticking the "tagged PDF" option, but that hasn’t worked either.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or knows how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance!

The bug persists. If anyone has any ideas, thanks to @Keya13, @Hangman has already helped me export from Publisher individually. What I need is for the project to be exportable as a whole since every time I download it entirely for corrections, I have to download 47 documents, which is very tedious.

Hi @duvid,

Can you zip up the .afbook along with the .afpub Chapters and any Linked graphics and upload the zip file so we can take a look.

Can you also confirm which PDF preset you're using for the export when exporting the complete Book and which Area Setting you're using, All Chapters as Pages or All Chapters as Spreads?

I’ve sent you the zip file via private message. The preset is high-quality digital but without tagged PDF.

Perfect, I'll take a look once that comes through...

Hi @duvid,

Many thanks for the files...

A number of the hyperlinks have spaces at the end of their URLs causing the Chapters to fail on export. There is also a shortened YouTube link causing issues as well which may be the result of the cedilla at the end of the URL.

Once the spaces are removed, the Youtu.be URL replaced with an alternative the Book Chapters export using All Chapters as expected.

It looks as though both may well be bugs but I'll run some further tests to see whether the same behaviour exists in 2.5.6 and Windows.
