weheartgames Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 I am a board game designer. I have a Designer document that has a separate artboard for each of the icons I'm using in my game. This works great when embedding a single icon into another document (like a Publisher document that is my Rulebook doc). I love that I can have all my icons in a single document, and don't even need to export them as their own individual icon files. I'm wondering if there is a way to use that same functionality in a Publisher data merge. Like, the image field in my spreadsheet would be filename.afdesign > artboardname or something like that, so that I can target a specific artboard within a Designer document. I'm not seeing anything to indicate this is possible... if it is, I'd love to know how. If it's not, consider it a feature request! Thanks, -Mike Quote
walt.farrell Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 No, that's not possible with the current Data Merge functionality. You would need to export them as separate files for use with Data Merge. (Sorry for the delayed response.) It's possible that a moderator will move this to the Feedback part of the forum for you, but it would probably be better for you to repost there yourself. weheartgames 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
