stitchingholesaffinity.thumb.jpg.5b408568a1654c1e986f1e6dc9ac56a9.jpgI do leather work and edit patterns. I have a pattern I bought, but the stitching holes for the piece is 1.5mm in diameter for the hole. Too large for my stitching thread. I want to change the holes from 1.5mm to 1mm, and we're talking literally hundreds of holes. I've already done two pieces that took over an hour. There has to be a better way.

I've attached a screenshot. I did try the copy, then paste style and the like from the menu, but it did nothing. I also changed the appearance of the hole in the "appearance" tab next to "swatches." This did not give me the same thickness and center hole as the original. No matter how I changed the size in that tab, it never matched the hole adjusted manually to 1mm. I'm trying not to get carpal tunnel.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums @Johnny Spartacus

The best way to do this would be to start with making a Symbol for one red ring and then duplicating the Symbol where needed.

Any changes to any Symbol instance will automatically be made to all the other instances of the Symbol.

However, since you already have the red rings, that’s probably not the best option in this case, more like a recommendation for future projects.

Is the outer diameter (edge) important, or do you just want to make the inner diameter (the ‘white’ hole) smaller?

In other words, can the outer diameter be increased or decreased when the hole is being made smaller?

Also, is the curve that makes the ring made of a single curve with a stroke applied or is it a curve with a red-filled area?

Assuming there are no other objects that are exactly 1.5mm in width

1. Select one of the 1.5mm holes in the Layers panel
2. Select > Select Same > Width >Equal
3. Make sure "Transform Objects Separately" is activated in the context toolbar
4. Change the Width/Height to 1.0mm in the Transform panel

You all are geniuses. Thanks for the help, I will save this info locally, not that I would forget how to do it now.

I also had to adjust the stroke to 1 pt, otherwise the stroke was too thick, but that was easy. I'll run it through the laser and see how it goes.

Much appreciated!
