Expand to stroke on curve causes artefacts

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I'm experiencing issues where expanding a stroke causes artefacts. It's not all the time, but I've noticed it before. In this example, a pretty simple curve is causing artefacts. I've tried grouping it and applying the expand stroke to the group, tried modifying the curve slightly, pretty much everything I can think of, but the outcome is the same.

I've tried disabling hardware acceleration, and changing the renderer to WARP but the outcome is the same.

Attached is an example and a screen recording of what I'm seeing. Any help would be welcome, it's driving me nuts!

Additional information:

  • Affinity Designer Version: 2.5.5
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
  • Hardware Acceleration: Enabled OpenCL compute acceleration
  • Renderer: AMD Radeon 780M
  • Graphics chipset: AMD Radeon 780M
