Color picker gesture issue

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Could you please help me with an issue regarding the color picker? The gesture for the color picker feels overly "intrusive" when performing actions like zooming or moving around the canvas.

It’s incredibly frustrating to have to switch back to my previous color every 10 seconds because the color picker keeps activating unexpectedly. And I swear, I’m not intentionally using the gesture. It just happens when I release my second finger a bit too late or accidentally touch the screen. Working like this is becoming impossible. I’ve used the previous version of Affinity Photo for years, and this never happened before.

Is there a way to fix or disable this gesture? I would love to turn it off if possible, but I haven’t found any solution so far. I stopped using the app for a year, hoping it would be addressed in updates, but the issue still persists.

Thank you

@Matejo-o It's triggered by a long press + drag when using the Brush tool, and the duration was increased sometime ago.

The apps don't have an option to disable the colour picker. If you're using an Apple Pencil you could enable Touch for Gestures only within the apps Settings > Tools.

We do have some improvements logged for the colour picker on iPad, which may be included in a future release.
