Shift pictures in picture frames on page

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I created a master page with a picture frame. I created a (common) page out of the master page and inserted a picture in the picture frame.

How can I move the picture frame on the common page to another position? I do not want to remove the picture frame on the master page.

Thanks.

Best regards

Hi @raj-ng and welcome to the forums,

If you right-click the Master Page Parent Layer on the Document Page and select Edit Detached (or select Edit Detached from the context toolbar with the Master Page Parent Layer selected) this will allow you to move the picture frame or any other element from the associated Master without impacting the Master Page itself...

In addition to the advice above, if you only have a small number of variations of page layout then smart master pages might be another option to look at.

The “Hickman & Co” template which comes with Publisher gives you an example of these.

You need to right-click on the Master Page layer in the Layers Panel, not a layer inside it.

Or, with the Master Page layer selected, choose menu “Layer → Master Page → Edit Detached”.
