Hi. I use On1photoRAW as my main photo manager, developer and editor. I own Photo v2 and currently use it if I am doing composite photos using AP to cut out selections which I send back to On1 and I also send images to AP for tonemapping. I would like to know if I could/should use AP for anything else, playing to AP strengths.

Hi Dave,

This is quite an open-ended question so it's hard for us to answer, if you provide more detailed steps regarding your workflow I should be able to point out any operations that are possible within Affinity that you currently use On1 for.

Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

@Callum

I shoot RAW micro 4/3 so noise reduction is important to me. After On1 denoise, and basic edits (shadows, mid-tones, white balance etc) I move to the edit tab in On1. There I use filters, some of which I know I can do in Affinity. I find that the selection of objects in Affinity is very good, so if I am doing a composite I will send the image to Affinity and save the selection as a separate file and import back into On1 for blending the layers together. I like the tone mapping in Affinity and there is nothing like that in On1 and I wondered if there was other functions in Affinity which I could use. It is a shame that Affinity doesnt have a send to other app option.I am not bothered about liquify but I would like to get the best out of each editor that I use.
