how do i obtain this functionality on the gradient tool?

Recommended Posts

Hello, i am working with gradients. I had to copy a gradient to multiple various different shapes, and in order to do that i have used the Style selector tool. when i pasted the style on the other shapes a very useful functionality of the gradient tool appeared.
i've been trying to make it appear on gradients on new shapes i did, but i can't figure out how and i cant find anything about it, neither in the affinity publisher 2 user manual.
I've tried also a bunch of keys combinations with shift, ctrl and alt but nothing worked...

Anyone knows how to make this functionality appear on the gradient tool?

@emanuele_a

Use the Shear control in the Transform panel after you add the gradient

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Create a shape
Add a gradient to the shape with the Gradient Tool
Switch to the Move Tool and change the shear value in the Transform Panel
Switch back to the Gradient Tool

@carl123 thanks. It's a non intuitive and non sense way to do it but it works. thank you.
This because i do shear the shape, but not the gradient itself. meaning i have to shear the shape back at its original value after the process

That's definitely a functionality they can implement in the future, both in designer and publisher
i.e. shearing directly a gradient with a key. maybe holding something like ALT + dragging the mouse over the gradient.
