willowen100 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I'm trying to create a text-based logo and I'm using the rectangle tool to place a horizontal bar over the text (currently converted to a curve). To cut out a horizontal line on the 'T' I'm tying to use the subtract tool, however the 'T' isn't on the grid and trying to align the red rectangle perfectly to the bottom edge of the 'T' seems impossible. As it doesn't snap I can't get a clean cutout. Please see screenshots and if anyone could help I would greatly appreciated it. Quote
GarryP Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Welcome to the forums @willowen100 In this case I would advice against snapping to the grid. Turn “Snap to grid” to OFF and then, in Designer only, use the Point Transform Tool (in Translate mode, see Status Bar) to snap the rectangle to the text. Quote
Hangman Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Hi @willowen100, Another option would be to 'Break' the letter 'T' in two, allowing the red bar to snap directly to the underside of the horizontal rectangle and then rejoin the two sections of the letter 'T'...
