bpu Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Hello, I'm on 2.5.5 of Affinity Publisher (Windows 11). I have a document with the following Masters: Master A with page numbers, no text frames. Master B with Master A applied, and two text frames linked. When I autoflow a spread with Master B applied, newly created page spreads layers contain: Master A - 2 Pages Master B - 2 Pages Master A - 2 Pages So as a result I have page number frames duplicated one on top of the other. Obviously, when I reapply the Master B to all those spreads, Master A laying outside disappears. In my investigation it does not matter if it is Master A, B, C, D applied, it duplicates whatever master is applied to the main one and puts it on top of the layers. I attach AUTOFLOW.afpub, so you can Shift + Click and see what happens, and AUTOFLOWED already Shift + clicked so you can see what happened to me. Is this a bug or I am doing something wrong? Thanks AUTOFLOW.afpub AUTOFLOWED.afpub
MikeTO Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 This is a bug. IMO, AutoFlow is a bit glitchy but I hadn't seen this issue before. I avoid using this feature myself, preferring to add pages manually (because I'm a control freak 🙂) I tried naming the masters (which is always a good idea), re-ordering them, re-applying the masters, creating a new document and creating the page number master before the main master, creating another new document and creating the main master before the page number master, etc., but none of these made the problem go away. I will post this into the bug forum so it gets picked up by QA but here's a workaround for you: Right-click Master B (the main master) and choose Clear Masters AutoFlow the overset text Right-click Master B and choose Apply Master and select Master A (the page number) Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters MacBook Pro (M4 Pro, Tahoe 26.1) and iPad Air (M2, iPadOS 26.1)

Old Bruce Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I could have sworn that this was already fixed. [Expletives Deleted] Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
