Emolas
I am setting up individual chapters to be compiled into a book using Publisher’s Books panel. Each chapter consists of two stories. The first story of each chapter contains the main text and concludes with the chapter’s endnotes; the second story (following directly after the endnotes) contains the references for that chapter. Endnotes are positioned “End of Story” and endnote numbering restarts each story. Two-way hyperlinks between reference numbers (in the text) and endnote bodies work as expected in Publisher and when an individual chapter (i.e., individual file) is exported to PDF. However, when a PDF is exported from the Books panel — whether all chapters or a single chapter — note references and note bodies are missing hyperlinks entirely. I tried a couple of variations with chapter structure: 1) In Notes panel, changed “Restart every Story” to “Restart every Section” 2) Added a “New Section” start for the fist page of the References story Results were the same: no links in either direction between note references and note bodies when exported as PDF from Books panel. Am I doing something wrong or is the lack of hyperlinks for endnotes in PDFs exported from the Books panel a known “feature”? I am running Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 on macOS Sonoma. MikeTO
Hi @Emolas and welcome to the forums. I've duplicated the problem you reported. It should work but it clearly doesn't, although it does when exporting a single document instead of a Book. I don't think this bug has been previously reported. Emolas
Thank you, MikeTO, for checking out and confirming the problem. (Also, apologies to all for the errant apostrophe after PDF in the title of this topic!) Emolas
