Hi guys,

First, Let me just apologize now, for this:  Long Back story and hopefully giving the right amount of information, so bear with me here.  I am an avid believer in Time Machine backups.  I have a 2tb NVME that stays connected, so when I needed to restore the MacOS on my MacBook, I thought it was safe.  I've had to do it a couple of times, over the past decade or so and it's always been quite easy.  However... this time, a message came up advising I would need to use the migration assistant.  I must've done something incorrectly, because I basically wound up reloading all of my 2nd/3rd? party programs manually.  After loading Affinity designer and opening the program, a set of my personal brushes, did not load.  I went looking for the '.propcols' and making sure that I loaded the latest ones, the set was still missing.  I did a more in-depth search and found multiple locations that they are stored.  (You guys probably already know this, but just in case) On my particular MacBook, 'vector_brush.propcol' can be found in ... ' /apps affinity designer/contents/resources' ... '/apps/affinity designer 2/contents/resources' ... '/user/me/Library/containers.com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/data/library/application support/user' ... and finally in ... 'user/me/library/group containers/6LVTQB9699.com.seriflabs/v2/user'.

A day or two before, I had just finished creating a set of brushes and had not yet exported them into their own .afbrushes file.  So, again, a 2nd time, making sure that I loaded the newest (and largest) 'vector_brush.propcol, that last set of brushes were just not showing up.

I'll throw this info in too. When pulling Affinity Designer out of the Time Machine Backup, a 'popup' read the app was corrupted and not usable. So, I downloaded the app, directly from the Serif site. When I deleted that old app, could it have deleted it's '.propcols' also?

Here is my actual question, finally.   Am I able to load multiple 'vector_brushes.propcol', from each location as well as a few of the most recent ones from time machine (each in a separate folder) into the correct AD2 folder, which I believe would be, the 'Group Containers/v2/user' folder. Or, would Affinity Designer 2 app, as well as my MacBook become so overwhelmed that they would both just blow up?

I've tried loading each one, one-by-one, but that quickly became confusing.

Best Regards, Nicole

You can only have one .propcol file of a particular name, so no, you can't load multiple vector.propcol files.

The correct location for you to use when finding the source files in your backup is given in the FAQ, and also the correct target location to restore them to. Both depend on where you installed the applications from, but it should be fine to restore the .propcol files backed up from a Mac App Store installation for use with an Affinity Store installation of the applications.
