printing imported .psd files

Recommended Posts

I have a series of 45 gift Cards showcasing my artwork designed in PS, I would like to open and print them in affinity photo 2. I am trialing your product and having difficulty with the print outcome, the colours are very dark and overly saturated can you tell me how to open them without changing the colours and format of the files. I have attached examples for you to inspect, they are printed on Marrutt A6 230gsm archival matt card stock on an Epson SC P800, thank you Graham

As nobody more competent answered yet:

  • search for PSD and color in the forum to find issues and solutions on how to get colors right during opening / importing
  • search for print and your Epson model to find help to get accurate results.
  • one factor is to specify if affinity or the print driver should manage color conversions.

which document color format and profile do you use?
to avoid complications I recommend to use RGB/8 or RGB/16 and sRGB profile.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.

Have you tried placing the PSD's in Publisher and then printing from there? Rather then opening the PSD in Photos which is using it as a workable file now, placing it in Publisher is not making it editable and nothing should be changing there. It might not solve the issue but would be worth a try.

Thank you all for the options, I’ll trial them and get back to you all with the results!

I'm trialing the affinity apps, have been using Adobe products since the 80’s, I could not find the Affinity manages colour however did find colour matching under Range and scale. I was able to assign a icc profile that worked very well, thank you all for your help!!
