jamesmac
I'm trying to use the Affinity Photo v2 Extension for Photos and am having problems. I've followed the online help, and: I'm using Canon CR2 RAW images Choose ... > Edit in Affinity Photo The image opens in Affinity Develop Persona Do my stuff Choose Develop, File > Save, then File > Close Photos loads the edited image, choose Save Changes, the Done All is updated no problems, so this works one time around. The problem I have is that if I try do the above a second time, Affinity gives an error, 'Apple Photos Document.cr2.afextensiondocument' has been modified outside of the application'. Is this a known issue? I note several topics here that are similar but not this exact issue. I'm so close to being able to use Photos as a great DAM solution with APhoto as the engine... Staff stokerg Posted September 13 Staff Share Posted September 13 Hi @jamesmac, Which version of MacOS are you running and which model of Canon camera are your RAW files from? I'm currently trying to replicate this but haven't been able to. When i send a RAW file from a Canon R5 from Apple Photos to Affinity, the RAW file is opened as a TIFF and isn't opened in the Develop Persona. If i switch to the Develop Persona, make some edits, save and close the file i can then send another or the same RAW from Apple Photos to Affinity without any error. jamesmac
MacOS 14.6.1, Photos 9.0 (661.0.111) Affinity Photo 2.5.5, Canon 7D MkII I confirmed after updating to the latest AP, this is still a problem. To reproduce this, you need to edit an image, bring it back into Apple Photos, save the changes and the re-edit the *same* image. Once the image has been touched by AP once, it won't work again. I've tried editing a different image, then coming back to the already touched one, restarting Photos, AP etc. Fundamentally, once an image has been edited using the plugin, you can't re-edit it. Attached the resource manager contents in case that helps. Happy to do a video of what's going in if you still can't repro.
