We have four different options when exporting SVG's:

But it doesn't indicate any factory-recommended applications.  Except "for export" is a misnomer because every option is an export.
I can't find any info on the differences.  All of it is digital (as opposed to analog) so no idea what those two mean.
We have this in the help but it doesn't say:

So if I wanted to export SVG's for archiving, that would be best suited for web use and viewing, that is a reasonable size and discourages post editing, that retains the max quality (less priority); I'm assuming my choice is SVG (flatten) but I don't know.

Is it possible to have the advanced SVG settings available for the Slices Export Panel?  These settings don't seem to be available there.

Nevermind on that last question.  It's on the very bottom of the drop down menu, sorry.

Also, what is this file that's generated in the parent folder on multiple export, and do I need to keep it?

And the 'whole document' "JPEG High Quality" preset and a slice "JPEG High Quality" preset (same preset chosen from the drop down menu) generate images that are 4kb different in size.  Wouldn't they be identical?

As for SVG (for export) I'd suggest this is a baseline export setting, a generic SVG if you will. Ultimately you can create your own export presets to suit your export needs using the options given for SVG export.

Oh ya.  That would be it, but it's weird that my 'Batch Builder' box is empty.  Guess I will make sure it's set to 'None'.

Ya.  I'm asking here for a description of each entry.
Btw a previous post of yours is what gave me the info to make my custom SVG settings.  Thanks for that.
