Unable to change the order of stacking photos on AP V2.4.2, I am stacking 50 to 100 images. I tried sorting my images in reverse order but AP does not recognise it. Is there a work around?

I can’t help with the problem as stated, I don’t use that functionality, but I’m wondering why you are using 2.4.2 when the latest version is 2.5.3.

(Sometimes, but not always, a problem can be easily fixed by simply upgrading to the latest version.)

I generally do not upgrade software versions immediately. I prefer stability so that my work can be done as it is. This problem could be inherent in AP. I hope someone has a work around.

That’s fine and, I would say, sensible – I usually wait a while myself so I can understand why.

I was only curious in case your applications/system had stopped asking you about updating.

Can you explain that a bit more please? (As I said, I don’t use the functionality myself, but someone else might be interested in what "does not recognise" means in this context.)

From a quick experiment:

  1. If you choose multiple files from File Explorer (Windows) when you do a FIle > New Stack and then click Add, they will be added in alphabetical order. If you want them in a specific order, you must Add them one-by-one.

  2. In either case, when the Live Stack Group is created, the images will be in the reverse order in the stack. That is, if the New Stack dialog listed files 1, 2, and 3, then the Live Stack Group will have the layers in the order 3, 2, 1 from top to bottom.

You can always drag images within the Live Stack Group in the Layers panel to reorder them

I created a folder and transferred 100 photos to it. I sorted the photos in reverse order, however, AP did not displayed the new sequence when I performed New Stack. AP did not recognise the new sequence, it only display the previous sequence for photos selection.

I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2 and I am aware that images will be in reversed order and I can drag images around. However, I would not like to drag 100 images perhaps 10 images is fine with me.

By the way, I just discovered that the the images are corrupted after stacking. Any known solution for this?

I have not heard of that problem, and we would probably need some screenshots and possibly some of the images.

But ideally that would happen in a new topic, not this one.
