Reduce nodes on corners while using Contour tool in Affinity Designer

Hello good ppl, I have tried changing various setting in the contour tool but is not able to resolve the following issue. As you can see the original path has just one corner point but when I offset it with the contour tool I get quite a lot of nodes. Is there any way to reduce them? Ideally like three points that should be still able to keep the curvature?
