Nane Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 (edited) I'm using the trial to check if I can use it instead of Photoshop. While trying, I run into a bug which I want to share. Layer Structure: (A) group (a) pixel layer (b) adjustment layers (B) background layer (pixel layer) Reproduce Bug: Turn off visibility of pixel layer (a) -> Adjustment layers (b) aren't working anymore Cross-check: Delete pixel layer (a) -> Adjustment layers (b) are working like they should Edited June 13, 2024 by Nane changed title to make it more clear Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 If you have Adjustment Layers and a Pixel layer in a group, the Adjustment Layers are intentionally restricted to applying to that Pixel layer. Merely hiding the Pixel layer would not remove that restriction as far as I know. The layer is still there, and still affected by the adjustment layers, though you can't see it. So I doubt this would be considered a bug. Nane Posted June 13, 2024 Author Posted June 13, 2024 Thanks for your reply. In Photoshop adjustment layers aren't restricted to "pixel layers" within the same group, so I considered this as a bug. Without the pixel layer, the adjustment layers work outside their group, so I'm a bit confused if this behavior is intended... Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Yes, that's intended, and yes, it works differently from Photoshop Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
