Hi,

Working in Affinity Publisher, I'm getting a pre-flight error: "Document Colour Profile not Suitable for PDF/X".

I'm producing a book manuscript with greyscale interior (colour format: grey/16; colour profile: greyscale D50). I am exporting to PDF/x-1a:2003, with a colour space of "gray".

Could anyone tell me why I'm getting this error? Is it a conflict between the document colour setup and the PDF settings? It exports fine, and looks fine, but I just thought I'd check.

Thanks,

Gareth.

@lacerto is there any downside to setting the default Gray profile in Settings to something like sGray? Would that work okay for non-press type documents?

Thank you, @lacerto. So none of the default profiles will cirumvent this error? I would have to import and install one of the ones you mention? Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable in thesee technical matters.

@Woodpig Do a Google Search on "How to install ICC profiles" for your platform (Windows or MacOS). Copy and Paste your profiles into the proper file folder, then restart your Affinity App. The profiles should then be available for use.

@lacerto Thanks for your usual, well-informed reply!!
