But I've only tested on Windows. So you're able to select the lines I want on Windows? If so, this becomes a bug report.

I think I can, but I'm not really sure I understand what you want. I can only say it seems to work as I expect it to work. I can only say it seems to work as I expect it to work. I simply want to select the darker orange lines that I pointed the arrow to several posts up. If you click on one of them with the color-sampling tool, I expect everything that color to get selected, along with every other color within the tolerance setting. It seems to me that clicking on that color and instead getting other random colors selected is not at all what anyone would expect!
nickbatz
Well, this is what I came up with. I did it by copying the "problem" area, selecting and removing things in steps, and then pasting the result back. If I didn't want the different color zones with varying degrees of brown, there are blend modes that eliminate them. But at least right now I like it like this. The obvious reason for Selected Color to be unhappy would be that what I wanted to select is too close to its surroundings, but I just used it elsewhere and it discriminated between black and almost-black no problem. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for the help. walt.farrell
