Hi I am using Affinity Designer (new version) on a MacBook Pro Sonoma 14.5. Previously when adding a graph from Graphpad prism the text would transfer at the right size. Now the text is all wrong- way too bit and has to be manually adjusted. I don't understand why this has happened - never an issue with the old version.

Hi @Collr and welcome to the forums,

  1. Are you exporting your GraphPad file as a PDF or EPS file?
  2. Are you then 'Opening' or 'Placing' the exported file in Designer?
  3. Are you using Artboards in Affinity Designer or a plain Canvas (i.e., not an Artboard)?
  4. Could you upload a sample file so we can take a look?

Hello I am facing a similar issue. I used to be able to copy and paste a graph directly from GraphPad Prism into an Artboard in Affinity Designer (Right click on the graph in Prism, Copy Graph, Paste in AD), and it would paste exactly as it was and I could work on it from there. However, now when I paste onto an Artboard, the text sizes and/or placement appear to be messed up. Attached are pictures of the original graph and how it normally look when pasted to AD versus what it is pasting as now. This issue just started after I updated to the new version yesterday. I am using Affinity Designer 2 2.5.0 on iMac. A fix to this bug or any help would be really appreciated!

Hi @jkris and welcome to the forums,

There is a scaling bug in v2.5…

If you create a new Artboard in Designer at set the Document dpi to 72 dpi (instead of 300 dpi) then see whether your GraphPad Prism graph pastes correctly…

I'm guessing this bug effects other apps.

I'm observing the same issue but when pasting chemical structures from ChemDraw to Affinity Publisher. This wasn't an issue until the last update of Publisher.

I'm using Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1, Affinity Publisher 2.5.0 & ChemDraw 23.1.1.3

The two pictures show the structure in ChemDraw and when pasted into Publisher. It can be manually fixed but who likes more work!

Hi @gjr23 and welcome to the forums,

As mentioned in the posts above, this is due to a text scaling bug in the v2.5.0 release...

If you set your Publisher document to 72 dpi rather than 300 dpi before pasting your chemical structures from ChemDraw you should find everything pastes correctly...

Thanks - much appreciate the tip. It works (and will use it when I start a new document ... unfortunately I'm halfway through one and changing the resolution now means I have to change all the native (non-pasted) text I already have there but at least I have a cure for the next document!)

Check with a copy of your document but you should still be able to change the document dpi to 72 without affecting the native (non-pasted) text, paste your ChemDraw chemical structure graphics and then change the document dpi back to 300 dpi...

In doing so you may find that it looks as though some of the text vanishes (another 2.5.0 bug), but simply selecting and moving the text frame either on the page or on the Master page will resolve that...

Sweet! That works a treat (it was the 'disappearing' text that foxed me. But you are correct, just move the box and it all comes back). Much appreciated.
