BreathEasy Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Hi, My text is justified, but I'm getting these gaps in between words. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere to avoid this, probably in the text styles menu, but just can't figure it out. Thanks in advance Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 A couple of possibilities: You have not enabled Automatic Hyphenation in the Paragraph panel or Paragraph Text Style, under Hyphenation. (I think this is probably the cause.) If you have enabled Automatic Hyphenation, then possibly each of those "lines" is really a paragraph, ending with a paragraph break rather than a line break. You do not seem to have Text > Show Special Characters enabled, so we can't see that. AlanPickup Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Maybe this is not the correct answer, but back in the day when we set justified type by hand we would just alter the spacing to balance out. I suppose this could be done by adjusting the tracking, if you did not want the words hyphenated Quote Alan Pickup Windows 11 Home all Affinity suite of Apps PC and Gigabyte Laptop 16gb Ram and Nvidia GTX1660 Super on each.

AlanPickup Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 it is the character menu, from the top menu bar select window then go down to Text then select character Quote Alan Pickup Windows 11 Home all Affinity suite of Apps PC and Gigabyte Laptop 16gb Ram and Nvidia GTX1660 Super on each.
AlanPickup Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 for info you do not need to do the whole text, but can just highlight the line you want to reduce the space on Quote Alan Pickup Windows 11 Home all Affinity suite of Apps PC and Gigabyte Laptop 16gb Ram and Nvidia GTX1660 Super on each.
