jtalbot@cableone.net
Hello, I am using the trial version. The deal breaker for me is being able to transfer my plugins from Photoshophotoshop to Affinity. I have read and understand how to do it from the directions; however, it seems the trial version will not let me do it or I do not understand it as well as I thought. Does the trial version let one do this? Thanks for your help. Jim
Staff MEB Posted May 13, 2016 Staff Share Posted May 13, 2016 Hi jtalbot@cableone.net, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Yes, you should be able to make them work with the trial. Here's how to configure it (assuming you want to use the existing Photoshop plug-ins folder): 1. In Plugin Search Folders, click Add and select the existing Photoshop plug-ins folder - usually located in Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015/Plug-ins 2. In Plugin Support Folders click on the Authorise Global button then Authorise again in the dialog that will appear; 3. check Allow "Unknown" plugins to be used then click close. Restart Affinity This is how the Photoshop Plug-ins Preferences window should look after you set it up: Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
dreamdancer
I am having an issue that I just noticed today, I was trying to install the Nik collection of plugins, I had previously installed plugins from AutoFx and had no problem, but now the Authorize Global button will not work, it remains inactive no matter what try, and now neither the Nik plugins or the AutoFx plugs are working. I have followed the instructions a couple of times so I don't know what I am doing wrong, any advice would be appreciated.
dreamdancer
Okay, I figured it out. Both of those plugins will only work with a certain file type, if I open png or jpeg the plugins will work, on photoshop files the plugins are greyed out.
