Texture padding/extension/dilation of last pixels around an island of selected pixels in Affinity photo

Recommended Posts

I've found this thread which talks about it, however this does not give a good solution, does anyone know a better way to apply padding around an area of pixels?

Basically what I would like to do is selecting the last loop of pixel around a colored area and offset it owtwards, this is very useful in texture making.

Attached there is an image that explains well what I would like to achieve automatically with one click.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you will not get a one click solution.

I tried making a macro with the steps below but it fails when you have to move layers into the group.

  1. Ctrl + Click on the layer icon for the texture.
  2. Click Select > Outline and use the settings 3px Inside Circular
  3. Perform a Copy/paste and duplicate that layer about 4-5 times
  4. Create a Group and place the layers created in step 3 into the group.
  5. With the group selected apply a Live adjustment filter: Maximum Blur with these settings: 40px optional choice is circular for the highlights.
  6. Place the group below the texture layer.

Adjust the steps as you see fit to improve the effect.
