shadanan Posted May 7, 2024 Author Posted May 7, 2024 With the help of @kenmcd, I was able to solve the problem. Apparently, the Variable Fonts don't play well in Affinity Designer. The solution is to uninstall Nunito-VariableFont_wght.ttf and install Nunito-Black.ttf instead. This is unfortunate, because I use the variable fonts in other apps. But at least I know the problem now. Thanks. Quote

So hopefully in the near future you can switch back to the variable fonts in Affinity. Dan C and shadanan 1 1 Quote
BC Holmes Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Thanks for documenting this. I'm having the same problem with the Google Font Big Shoulders Display (also a variable font). I'll try again when version 2.5 is available. Dan C 1 Quote
shadanan Posted May 31, 2024 Author Posted May 31, 2024 The problem has been fixed. I've double checked by reinstalling the Nunito variable font and creating a new doc with Affinity 2.5.1 Dan C, kenmcd and BC Holmes 2 1 Quote
