Edge detection - Magic Wand

Hi,

I have purchased Affinity Designer recently and yet to get used to it. At the outset, it looks fascinating and easy to us.

 

Now the problem, that I am facing. Is there a tool, something like Magic Wand in Photoshop, where I click inside an enclosed area and the nearest edges are detected automatically. Then, I can fill the colour, cut, move and transform the selected area.

I have read that Brush Selection does the same thing, but, it actually isn't the same. Or, may be I do not know how to use it.

 

This is quite an important tool for me. I would appreciate an early help.

I think you’re looking for Affinity Photo for that tool ;)

I have already made a purchase of Affinity Designer, assuming that it will have the tool. If not, I may go ask for refund, as it does not solve my purpose.

You can do that and get Affinity Photo instead. What exactly are you looking to make - as in what kind of art?

The Brush Selection Tool in Pixel Persona should do want you want, however i'm not sure where are you trying to use it.

Are you working with an image (pixel layer) or trying to select an area enclosed by vector shapes/paths?
