JenPeepshow Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Hi everyone, I am currently using the Affinity Suite 2.42 on my Mac Mini, Ventura 13.6.6. Is Affinity supported if I upgrade to Sonoma? Are there any deal breaking bugs? Quite nervous to upgrade... Thanks in advance Jennifer thomaso 1
MikeTO Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Many of us are using Sonoma now. I'm having a macOS-wide issue with spell checking but I'm not having any Sonoma-specific issues with Affinity. There were some issues when Sonoma was in public beta but those were fixed a few versions ago. Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters MacBook Pro (M4 Pro, Tahoe 26.1) and iPad Air (M2, iPadOS 26.1)
nickbatz Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 I updated my Mac Studio M1 Max from Ventura to Sonoma 14.4.1 a couple of weeks ago. No deal breaking bugs. The only issue I'm having is that once in a while with certain files Affinity Photo doesn't relinquish all the RAM it grabs when I quit the program. But the way I use the program pushes it harder than most people are likely to push. These are files with >75 layers, and they use a large percentage of the 64GB in my machine.
JenPeepshow Posted April 16, 2024 Author Posted April 16, 2024 Hi Nick, thanks for the feedback. I had seen some posts regarding the pdf export being bugged, have you experienced this?

I haven't (because I don't export PDFs), but even if this were an issue, all you'd have to do is right-click on a file in the Finder and use the Quick Action to convert it. My prediction is that you'll be fine with Sonoma - which isn't to say that the version before 14.4.1 wasn't a total mess, because it was!
