AnnieBro
So, I use Affinity 2.4.1.2334 (all three apps) on an iPad Pro 12.9" 2018 iOS 17.4.1 and just recently noticed a very obnoxious bug. Whenever I install a new font, it does not appear in any of the Affinity app and you guys know that as a designer this is very troublesome. I’ve seen on the forums that this is an unresolved issue for any iOS 17, however, I didn’t have this problem in February, for example. Normally I use the same fonts that I had already installed before, so that’s why I’m seeing it now. The new fonts appear in Procreate, as well as Pages, but not in any Affinity app. I tried installing them through settings in Affinity - no result. I tried copy-pasting the text from someplace else - sure, it works, but then I’m limited to the text box where I pasted the text and if I delete this text, the style does not remain. Dan C
Hi @AnnieBro, Thanks for your report! As you've mentioned, our team are aware of issues with fonts within Affinity on iPadOS 17 and due to these known issues our development team currently recommend installing fonts outside of the Affinity app - either directly into the iPadOS Settings using Font 'profiles', or using a free third party Font Manager, such as iFont. I'd recommend removing the font from the Affinity app settings you have installed already, then once you have installed the font as a profile/through a font manager, you should then find this correctly appears within the Affinity app. I hope this helps
David Battistella
just to confirm, I have installed several fonts using ifont and never had a font issue with the ipad. i have created an icloud folder on my computer and copied fonts into there and then can bulk import them using iFont which has a few steps but makes the fonts available system wide. david Dan C

AnnieBro
I always used iFont for installing fonts and following the instructions with the profile installation, I haven’t had any problems until iOS 17.4 - 17.1, .2 and .3 wasn’t causing any issues. I hope the team figures out a way to fix this compatibility issue and do update me when there’s a fix! David Battistella
David Battistella
Im on 17.4.1 without any issues if i install the profiles and follow the steps. an ipad restart might not be a bad idea to get rid of the gremlins restarts are always worth a shot. david AnnieBro
AnnieBro
Little update: I just noticed right now that the fonts I had installed 5-6 days ago (which weren’t appearing until 2 days ago for sure, I’m not sure about yesterday) showed up and are usable in the app. The last time I restarted my iPad and reinstalled Affinity apps was the same day I wrote about the issue. I have no idea how these bugs get resolved without an update or something, but nonetheless thank you guys! Dan C
