Recommended Posts

Using Affinity Photo 2.4.1, on Windows 10 Pro 22H2, 32GB RAM, Intel i5 9600KF CPU

Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 1060 w/ 3GB RAM

Hardware acceleration is On (Doesn't happen when Off)

Reproduction instructions:

  1. Open a JPG image (I use 24MP from my Fuji X-T3
  2. Add Live Filter of Clarity as a children of the image (I set it to 25%)
  3. Add a mask as a child of the filter
  4. Invert mask to all black
  5. Use a while brush, around 800px, 50% opacity, 11% flow, 6% hardness
  6. Brush quickly (using a mouse or Wacom tablet), and program crash and close. No message shows.

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks.

Hi @EchoOneand Welcome to the Forums,

As the crash doesn't happen with Hardware Acceleration off, it's likely related to openCL.  The first thing I'd suggest is doing a clean install of your graphics card drivers, making sure you are installing the latest ones and then see if you can enable Hardware Acceleration and carry out the same actions and see if you get a crash.

Could you also attach the latest crash report?  You may have more than 1 report but please just attach the latest one as it should related to this crash.  To find your report see here.
