Can't open recent files within Affinity, can't save sometimes - macOS M3

Yes and no... see below

1. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem?

Not in new documents

1. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following:

•    What is your operating system and version

macOS Sonoma 14.3

•    Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?

It was on, but I fixed the problem for now, see below, with it still on. I've tried a lot, can't say I've tried both positions. 

•    What happened for you (and what you expected to happen)

I was working in Designer, tried File - Save and nothing happened. No dialog box opened, and the application was continuing as if there wasn't a dialog box. I checked that the dialog box wasn't hidden, couldn't find it anywhere. 

I then had trouble opening files from inside the app, but when I quite the app and double clicked the file, it opened the file okay. I think this route of opening the file fixed the corruption? of the file that I couldn't open. 

I've now got round all the broken files in my recent files list, but have lost some faith. 

Other info: recent upgrade to Sonoma 14.3 on an M3 MacBook Pro with 18 GB of RAM and 320 GB of free disk space.

I've attached a problem file. I've also had problems with files that don't contain bitmaps. I'd like to say that the problems were all on V1 files, but I can't swear to it.

Essentially, as above, I could not open it from Recent Files, but could open it using File Open.

Hi @Bob Gates,

Not a great deal of help but I'm not seeing any issues opening your attached file regardless of how it's opened so unsure if this is specific to Apple Silicon or Sonoma. Hopefully, someone else running a similar setup can confirm whether or not they experience any issues...
