Hi All

I'm importing a two colour pdf - 199C and 430U. The fonts (430U) - Bembo aren't on my new mac yet so the text won't show when I place the image - not even in the layers. The image part of the pdf - 199C shows.

Is this a font issue or a mix in pantone - C's and U's?

Can anybody out there come up with a simple explanation, I've recently started using Affinity Designer so a real newbie.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Vernon,

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like a font issue, with it not being installed on your new mac. Can you install the font or have the PDF recreated with the fonts embedded?

If you can upload a copy of the PDF, I can take a look.

Thanks

L

Hi L

I installed Bembo and the text appeared. Thanks for the advice

Does this mean that if we place a pdf, any text that is not installed on our system will not appear - not even a warning?

The original pdf was created by us in InDesign CS2 pdf/x-1a:2001.

I'm liking the Designer programme - we're not pure designers but printers/designers who offer the whole kit and caboodle so have to deal with everything,

and recently upgraded our Macs to IMacs from the old G5's - hence why we're looking for an alternative to Adobe and the cloud - thought you might like a bit of background of where your customers are coming from...looking forward to your new page layout programme.

cheers

Vernon
