MtnDave
What factors can affect the blackness of text? I'm setting black text with CMYK set to 100% K, and 0% CMY. Sometimes this looks greyish not completely black - I'm conscious of various opacity settings and once I found a little slider which affected density of the black but can no longer find it! I'm a relative newbie - any advice appreciated ,thanks.
Alfred
100% K on its own will often look greyish on screen, depending on the display and how it’s calibrated. RGB is an additive colour model (using emitted light) whereas CMYK is a subtractive colour model (using reflected light) so they’re never going to look identical. If you factor in things like room lighting and paper absorbency, you can probably see why it’s difficult to get a good match. For a darker result you could use a ‘rich’ black instead of K-only, but (because it uses the CMY plates) it would increase your printing costs.
