Insert Hyperlink for email address does not carry the address in to the pop up control

Recommended Posts

I am sure this was posted a long time ago, but is still the same. If you highlight an email address and right click, select insert hyperlink in the popup it does not insert the email address. Sometimes it defaults to url and adds the http etc, but changing it to email deletes the email address.

Any update?

Hey @AlanPickup,

This has come up before but isn't a bug, the hyperlink dialog won't detect and dynamically change the 'Type' dependant on the text content highlighted, but rather it will just default the type to what the previous hyperlink was inserted as, for example if I inserted a 'Page' hyperlink when I next go to insert another hyperlink the dialog will default to 'Page' as that's what I last inserted.

This does exist as a feature request however which I've linked below for reference.

The email field type won't automatically insert the text content highlighted into the email box, but there is a dropdown in the field in which previously inserted emails will be listed for selection.

Gets confusing if you highlight a url and press ctr+h  if it defaults to email, when you change it to url the address is automatically inserted, seems strange that does not happen with an email address as the app stores the info?
